weight loss – week 2

Weds June 12

Last week’s weight: 297

New weight: 290

Total loss: 7ibs

A decent first week which I’m happy with for a number of reasons.

Firstly I did no exercise at all. This is mostly due to my arthritis being too painful to be active.

Secondly, I had a good drink Saturday due to a pre-arranged event. Normally when I drink I have a curry before bed, but I made the decision to put a pizza in the oven instead.
My average calorie intake was just under 2100, though that figure was bumped up as a had around ten pints on Saturday. I tried to cut out snacks which make up unnecessary calories – things such as coke, crisps, chocolate, a couple of cans of beer of an evening, and to be honest, I’ve found missing out on these little treats quite tough. Something else I’ve found tough is eating while working – I got into a habit of snacking while writing which helped me perked up during shifts, but I’ve had to knock this on the head, which has been hard.
When it comes to meal times, I’ve tried to make hearty food which is filling and will hopefully help it easier to not snack throughout the day. Because I’ve so much to lose, and I’m not trying to lose it all in a matter of a few months, I think it’s better to not shock my body too much by going straight to eating only 1500 calories a day religiously.
It is Danielle’s birthday tomorrow and with celebrations planned I have to be conscious of what I’m eating. It’s also Father’s day on Sunday which could mean gifts of chocolate or alcohol. However, I’m also conscious of not making such events all about me and dieting as I feel this would be selfish.
This coming week I’d like to dry to lose another two to three ibs. I’m hoping to achieve this with more of the same as last week, but I will try to fit in some exercise if possible.
